In tough economic times there are new ways of making a living. Even in scarey times new ideas come to the front – if you have the eyes to see them! One such opportunity is to learn website design and start your own business.
One way to understand all this is to look at things from an historical point of view. When we moved off the farms into cities we created a breakdown in the old business structures. When the automobile replaced the horse as a form of transportation how many people lost their jobs? How many more got new jobs in a new industry?
The products and services required for the information age are different than those needed for the industrial age. There is a huge opportunity for self starters to train themselves in a new skill that can make what was a challenge into a bright new opportunity. With software advances one can learn this skill is a relatively short amount of time
Used to be you needed a college educated programmer who could understand all the detailed html coding. Just like Windows made computers much easier to use, new software programs are making web design easier to do as well – and not just cookie cutter sites either!
I needed to create a new form of income when I moved into my parent’s home to care for them in their senior years. Having had some web design experience I found and used this new software system. What I found was just amazing! All I have to do is pick up the phone and call local businesses and I always find new leads. I found that one out of ten conversations resulted in an interview and one out of three interviews resulted in a sale.
After a while it became easier to know what to say and how to present myself. You can make more in one sale than you could make working a full time week in an average job – and as you develop your skill you can get them done with better skill and in a shorter time.
Many website designers only know a little about internet marketing. You can simultaneously train yourself about on line marketing, do it all on line, and quickly become the expert in your community.
These methods can easily be done by anyone and done for free. Compare that to the expensive advertising done in newspaper, radio and television. Check out local web designers in your area and see how much they are charging. Now, you may not be able to do fancy coding or even need to know how to do that – but if you can solve a small businesses need to be on the Internet, and do it at a reasonable rate, you might just find yourself a great income opportunity!
